Handheld consoles are cool. They allow you to play games anywhere and with Eskom’s rolling blackouts… we mean load shedding, they also give you something to do when the lights go out. If you’re looking to splurge on a handheld console there are a few options available.
The first is the dedicated gaming console from Nintendo: the Nintendo Switch Lite. It’s a lightweight portable console that offers much of what its bigger sister, the Nintendo Switch, gives you. The gaming library is immense and they’re some really good AAA titles like Overwatch and The Witcher also available for it.
Of course, the other option is to keep jamming those mobile games on your phone. Samsung recently introduced the GLAP to the South African market. The bluetooth controller pairs up with your Android phone and creates a very Switch like experience for you, with just your phone.
